Just getting started with VLAN. The procurve has port 48 set as TEST vlan id 10. Connected a test AP to that port. ProCurve has IP 172.17.2.52. I want wireless to have 172.17.3.x/24. Switch .52 is connected to .51 by bridge, .51 is connected to iPrism (filter) in bridge mode (basically traffic flows through and is scanned), iPrism to NSA 240 firewall (.2). Do I give AP a 172.17.3.x IP address (static)? DHCP is currently handled by NSA 240, how do I set it to give out ip addresses for the VLAN through that wireless? Do I need to do anything to switch .51? I actually know how to scan IP traffic going through the iprism.
v2. Colored fiber to thicker red, wireless is now dotted black, cleaned up lines so they go straight to switch instead of inter-connecting. This is somewhat of a physical layout. Center switch is in network closet, switches 1 & 2 are in there along with all servers. Printers are in different offices, I will group them with the proper labs once I get the dang lines autosnapping figured out. The wireless lines still overlap, but did not think that was a big deal since they are wireless. Will change firewall to web connection once I figure out best connector shape to use. The IT team is me, that is it. Right now I also teach half the day, so time is pretty crazy. Next year since we are adding approximately 200 wireless devices and my management time will skyrocket, I may only be teaching one or two classes.
